Acrylic adhesives are a kind of adhesives with unique properties and a wide range of applications. According to the form and application characteristics of the adhesive, it can be divided into solvent type, emulsion type, reactive type, pressure sensitive type, instant drying type, anaerobic type, photosensitive type and hot melt type. From this classification, it is not difficult to see that the application range of amphoteric acid-based adhesives is very wide. It can be said that all metal and non-metal materials can be bonded with acrylic adhesives. Among them, pressure-sensitive adhesives, anaerobic adhesives, photosensitive adhesives, hot melt adhesives, etc., have basically formed their own systems. The following mainly introduces solvent-based, emulsion-based, reactive acrylic and a-cyanoacrylate adhesives.
Acrylic emulsion adhesives can be used in non-woven fabrics, fabrics, thread implants, polyurethane foam materials, composite films, carpet backings, etc., and can also be used in construction, as masonry adhesives, decorative adhesives and sealants. The composition of acrylic ester for emulsion polymerization includes monomer, water, initiator, emulsifier, buffer and protective colloid. The initiator can be a peroxide system or a redox system. Emulsifiers include anionic and nonionic emulsifiers. The buffer is some non-acid salts such as sodium bicarbonate added to maintain the pH. Representative protective colloids include polyvinyl alcohol and methyl cellulose.
