1. Suitability for product packed inside: lamination process for different product is selected on the basis of characteristics of product packed inside. We find that solvent based adhesive lamination is suitable for all type of lamination like laminate for food products etc. Solventless lamination is less preferable for metalized film laminations.
Solventless adhesive lamination is suitable for all type of juice packaging and in some packaging where ethyle solution is not required in solvent. Solventless lamination is suitable for ready to eat products and for light weight products.
2. Adhesive GSM: is used more in solvent base lamination as compared to solvent less lamination. This is because some amount of solvent in adhesive evaporates in the environment.
3. Curing time: we find less curing time for solvent less lamination as compared to solvent-based adhesive for flexible packaging.
4. Green bond: Green bond for flexible packaging adhesive is bond in laminate till the adhesive dried completely. It is more in solvent based lamination as compared to solventless lamination because more curing time is required in solvent based lamination.
5. Eco-friendly: there is volatile content in solvent-based lamination. The volatile content evaporates in environment during processing that is hazardous for the environment. Such types of volatile contents is not to evaporate in solventless lamination.
