Adhesive lamination is the process of bonding a plastic film to a printed film by means of heat and pressure for protection of the work or to improve the appearance of the work. Different applications require a different kind of lamination films, depending on use and location of the item to be laminated.

Lamination process for different product is selected on the basis of characteristics of product packed inside. We find that solvent-based lamination is suitable for all type of lamination like laminate for food products, metalized film lamination, chemicals products, etc.

Dry lamination is that in which the liquid adhesive is first dried before lamination. The adhesive can be either applied to one substrate and dried. The adhesive is then in the dry solid or slightly tacky stage when joined with the other substrate. The bonding is generally achieved during a high temperature, and pressure nip. Dry lamination can be applied to a broader range of products such as film to film and film to foil applications.

Solvent-free lamination is less preferable for metalized film lamination. Solvent-free lamination is suitable for all type of juice packaging and in some packaging where ethyle solution is not required in solvent. Solvent less lamination is suitable for ready to eat products and for light weight products.
